We at Community Animal Hospital realize that your pet is more than just an animal: he/she is a vital and important part of the family. When you lose your most beloved companion, it brings out feelings that can be very difficult to deal with. The unique and lasting bond between you and your pet deserves very special treatment. During this stressful time, the knowledge that the pet you so deeply cared for will be treated with compassion and respect can be a great comfort at the end. Everyone experiences loss in a different way. We acknowledge this and will do our best to accommodate personal requests, as long as it does not compromise the comfort and safety of our patients. All animal companions are given a sedative prior to the euthanasia procedure, which helps ensure a peaceful transition. You are encouraged to remain for as much or as little of your beloved pet’s passing as you are comfortable with. With every euthanasia procedure, a small donation is made towards our Compassion Fund in honor of your pet.

We believe in providing the bereaved pet owner compassionate assistance with their pet’s final arrangements. We firmly believe that pets are an integral part of our everyday lives and should be respected as such. We are a member of the PLPA (Pet Loss Professionals Alliance) & ICCFA (International Cemetery, Cremation, and Funeral Association). For you as a pet owner this means that we have agreed to abide by the PLPA and ICCFA obligations of membership, Creed of Ideals, Code of Ethics and Consumer’s code, we comply with all applicable state and local laws and ordinances.

Pet Aftercare Options

Options after their passing include taking them home for burial or cremation (with or without return of ashes). Private cremation with return of ashes can offer you a dignified and eternal memorial to their lasting and undying devotion. All cremations are performed on-site, so we can personally ensure your companion’s remains will receive respectful treatment. This also allows us to offer an efficient time frame and to accommodate most special requests. We can also make a clay imprint of your pet’s paw, which can be personalized according to your directions.
